Tixylix New Syrup is used for treating dry cough and allergic symptoms. It contains Promethazine and Pholcodine, which blocks the action of a chemical messenger (histamine), responsible for triggering cough due to allergy. Also, it suppresses cough by reducing the activity of the cough centre in the brain. Sometimes, you may experience side effects such as nausea, vomiting, constipation, sleepiness, dizziness, confusion, and breathlessness. It is advised to drink plenty of fluids while taking this medicine to overcome dry mouth and extreme thirst. Before taking this medicine, you should tell your doctor if you are allergic to any of its components or if you are pregnant/breastfeeding, and about all the medications you are taking and pre-existing medical conditions.
