Primolut-N (containing norethisterone) is commonly used to delay periods by keeping progesterone levels high, which prevents the uterine lining from shedding. It is usually taken 3 days before the expected period at a dosage of 1 tablet 2–3 times daily for a maximum of 10–14 days. Periods generally resume 2–3 days after stopping the tablet.
