Onglyza 5 mg Tablet is used in the treatment of type 2 diabetes in adults when diet and exercise alone cannot control blood sugar levels. It is the first-line therapy for patients with type 2 diabetes that restores the body's response to insulin. It contains Saxagliptin, which increases insulin production after meals when blood sugar is high. It may cause common side effects such as hypoglycemia (low blood glucose levels), upper respiratory tract infection, nasopharyngitis (infection of nose and throat with common cold) and headache. Before taking this medicine, you should tell your doctor if you are allergic to any of its components or if you are pregnant/breastfeeding, and about all the medications you are taking and pre-existing medical conditions
