Cefakind-CV 500 Tablet is used to treat various bacterial infections such as pharyngitis/tonsillitis (throat infections), otitis media (ear infections), sinusitis (infection of the sinuses), gonorrhoea (sexually transmitted disease), Lyme disease, septicaemia (bloodstream infection), meningitis (inflammation of the brain and spinal cord), lower respiratory tract, skin, urinary tract, bone, and joint infections. It contains Cefuroxime and Clavulanic acid, which work by preventing the formation of bacterial cell covering, which is necessary for their survival. Thus, it kills the bacteria. Also, it decreases bacterial resistance and enhances the activity of cefuroxime against the bacteria. In some cases, it may cause certain common side effects, such as diarrhoea, abdominal pain, nausea, and vomiting.
