Atarax SR Tablet is used to treat allergic reactions. It is used to treat allergic skin conditions with inflammation and itching. In addition to this, it is also used to treat anxiety. It contains Hydroxyzine, which works by blocking the action of the histamine receptor responsible for allergic symptoms. Thus, it effectively treats allergic reactions. It also treats anxiety as it decreases the brain's activity. Sometimes, it may cause side effects such as dizziness, weakness, headache, nausea, constipation, sedation, vomiting, upset stomach, and diarrhoea. Before taking this medicine, you should tell your doctor if you are allergic to any of its components or if you are pregnant/breastfeeding, and about all the medications you are taking and pre-existing medical conditions
